In September’s Simply V Cooking Class, participants made soft, fragrant Steamed Malay Cake and hearty Stir-Fried Instant Noodles. From the caramel sweetness of palm sugar to the savoury richness of noodles, it was a delicious afternoon of learning and sharing.
Another brilliant session with our Mandarin and Cultural Adventure Group! This month, we revisited basic Chinese strokes and learned the Hanyu Pinyin sound “T”. The children listened to the touching story of Min Ziqian and finished the day by crafting their own beautiful pinwheels.
In August, our Simply V Cooking Class featured nutty Almond Cookies and a colourful Stir-Fried King Oyster Mushroom dish. A perfect mix of sweet and savoury, it was a joyful session of cooking and sharing together!
In July’s session, the children practised reading and writing, played a fun matching game, learned the rhyme “Little White Rabbit,” and hopped with joy! They also discovered Oracle Bone Script, gaining a glimpse into the ancient roots of Chinese writing. A playful and thoughtful cultural adventure!
In July’s cooking class, participants made sweet, chewy Red Bean Rice Cakes and a savoury Pumpkin Peanut Sauce dish. Both recipes were simple and full of flavour, perfect for sharing with loved ones over a comforting meal.
