Our Cultural Carnival in August was a fantastic celebration of hands on learning, tradition, and creativity. The children had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of interactive stations, each designed to offer a unique glimpse into traditional skills and cultural play.

Throughout the event, the kids took part in six exciting activities:

  • Bookmark Making: Crafting beautiful keepsake bookmarks to take home.
  • Origami: Folding paper into intricate shapes.
  • Five Stones: Testing dexterity and coordination with a classic game.
  • Archery: Practising focus and aim with child-friendly bow and arrow sets.
  • Oracle Bone Writing: Discovering the earliest forms of Chinese characters by writing on textured surfaces.
  • Pizza Making: Rolling out dough and customising delicious personal pizzas.

At the end of the day, we surveyed the children to find out which experiences stood out the most.

Bookmark Making and Archery shared first place as the overall favourite activities. The calm creativity of crafting paired perfectly with the active thrill of hitting the target.

When it came to difficulty, Five Stones took the prize for the most challenging activity. Mastering the quick tosses and catches required patience and practice, but the children tackled the game with brilliant determination.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so memorable. Check out our highlight video to relive the best moments of the carnival, and stay tuned for our next adventure!
